Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is conveniently located just outside Taunton, right off the M5, making it great for accessing all Somerset and North Devon's attractions. The rooms, although comfortable with great air conditioning, were affected by traffic noise from the motorway. The service was very pleasant and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay overall. The dining options were good, albeit a bit pricey, and the hotel offered a variety of choices. However, the location, just off the motorway, could be a drawback due to noise concerns.
The hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms, though the pillows were a bit too firm for my liking. It was very clean and seemed recently refurbished, but the mismatch in bed setup was a letdown. The service was top-notch, with the friendliest and most helpful staff I've encountered. The location was ideal for a stop between London and Cornwall, though it was marred by a large private party during my stay. The dining experience was a mix of very good options for vegetarians and some disappointing wrapped and dry food. The hotel needs some extra customer care training but excels in various facilities.
I had already paid for an Executive suite, but the room was essentially no better standard than a premier inn and in some respects less well planned and laid out. Overall, it was disappointing and masquerading as something it isn't. The hotel was lovely; however, due to a wedding going on the same day and an apparent lack of staff, my sleep was not great. The breakfast was very good, but some essential items were missing like fried eggs and bacon. The location is perfect for those heading down to the southwest of the country, great for a relaxing stay, but a little far from the town center. The dining experience was inconsistent, and some items were lacking, but the buffet had excellent, well-cooked food and attentive service. The staff showed great kindness and empathy, making my stay pleasant. The facility was dated, to say the least, with food in piles along all the corridors.
